Kirsty MacColl – You Just Haven’t Earned it Yet Baby
Morrissey/J. Marr, 1987

If you’re wondering why
All the love that you long for eludes you
And people are rude and cruel to you
I’ll tell you why
I’ll tell you why
I’ll tell you why
I’ll tell you why

But you wouldn’t believe me

You just haven’t earned it yet, baby
You just haven’t earned it, son
You just haven’t earned it yet, baby
You must suffer and cry for a longer time
You just haven’t earned it yet, baby
And I’m telling you now …

If you’re wondering why
When all I wanted from life was to be Famous
I have tried for so long, it’s all gone wrong
I’ll tell you why
I’ll tell you why
I’ll tell you why
I’ll tell you why
Today I am remembering the time
When they pulled me back
And held me down
And looked me in the eyes and said

ojI objected
When they took it away from here
Honesty that could not have been much more than me.

One must be strong for without the weather will change
But within remain unchanged the things for which we strive
For happiness, I guess, when you lay it on the ground.

Felicity, I guess so
Felicity, I guess so

Now I’m in a stupor
Behind the scenes which say
This way is OK
The clarity of my eyes
Shines both in memories of past victories
Fine scenes shining while, shining white.

Felicity, I guess so
Felicity, I guess so.

Take me to the bridge now.

Happiness
Oh oh happiness. Oh oh happiness.
This is the sound of happiness.

Pop star Bjork is to rejoin her former bandmates in The Sugarcubes for a one-off concert in Iceland.

The gig in November 17 will mark the group’s 20th anniversary, according to a statement on the singer’s website.

The Sugarcubes became darlings of the music press after they formed in 1986, and had a top 20 single in the UK with Hit in 1992.

Where did you get that hat?

pope “The Pope appears to be developing a habit of turning heads by arriving for public appearances in unusual hats. Today Benedict XVI appeared at a Vatican audience sporting a wide-brimmed red hat, known in Italian as a saturno, because its wide lip resembles the rings around the planet Saturn. It is also affectionately known as a platter hat. Pilgrims in a sun-drenched St Peter’s Square had a splendid view of the pontiff in his new headgear as he stood, waving, in the car driving him to his weekly audience. Possibly made uncomfortable by the heat, the pontiff later took it off.”
